An Algorithm, inspired by the optimal geographical location of "Starbucks" coffee shops in New York City, was developed to define the distribution of programmatic units in an existing field to achieve a programmatic optimization. From an initial field of nodes (i.e. existing program) a computational process defines the optimal location of new programmatic units, responding to each unit's service radius and to contextual forces, resulting into an optimal service distribution of the entire area. This principle was taken further by developing an algorithm that automatically defines the spatial distribution of structural nodes of a space frame that emerges onto existing geometrical points.
